A selection of over 15 dishes were presented to the group to critique on taste and presentation. They were also requested to comment and provide any suggestions on each dish.
A smart innovative approach by Walawwa, whilst currently providing a great & successful venue it seeks to improve and expand based on changes sought through the introduction of Chef Don Sherman and feedback obtained from this event in a continuous effort to raising the bar in being one of the leading venues to enjoy both traditional and modern Sri Lankan cuisine at its best.
Among some of the comments made on the night were..
"A great mix of flavours brought together in one dish"
"A colourful and appetising look that also delivered on taste"
"Would love to see these dishes on an 'a la carte' menu"
And the list of positive and constructive critique goes on to showcase a promising time for Walawwa restaurant, function centre and soon to be opened cafe.
Among the guest it was good to see people such as
Mrs Marj Harvey (MD Australian Food Hygiene Services) Mr Chris Markovic (Key A/C Manager Medirest and contributor to the Vesti newspaper) & Mrs Ida Chionh (A Wok From The Wildside and Leader Newspaper) along with some well known Foodies in the community.
I look forward to the next phase in the culinary adventures of Walawwa with Chef Don Sherman and the team of hospitable front of house staff.
