The ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 Trophy was part of the main attraction at Dandenong Show Grounds where over 10,000 people came to enjoy the New Year Celebrations. 

SLGTTIOBA Australia is the biggest Sri Lankan Association in Australia who has been celebrating the Sinhala & Tamil New Year. 

More than 4,000 people had the great opportunity to see the CWC 2015 first hand and stand next the Trophy and get pictures, Fans from all age’s young as Two years old to Eighty plus from the cricket loving country had a great view of the trophy. 

Dav Whatmore, the 1996 CWC winning coach for Sri Lanka was there to join the fans and take pictures. The Mayor of Dandenong together with members of Parliament and Sri Lanka’s Consul General in Victoria were a part of the invitees and they all had the opportunity to be with the CWC 2015 and meet with World Cup winning Coach Dav Whatmore. 

The Young Cricketers TYCDIEP Multicultural team, who works with the ICC CWC 2015 Australia – New Zealand, brought the Trophy to the Sri Lankan community and this is the first time in History an opportunity like was given by the ICC. 

Don’t forget to secure your seats for only game in Melbourne Thursday 26th of February where Sri Lanka will play with Bangladesh D/N at the MCG. We will be looking forward to meeting the fans to cheer Sri Lanka.
