The first election result could be expected around 2.30 pm today (7pm Melbourne/Sydney time) , Election Commission’s Chairman Mahinda Deshapriya said.
He said the announcement of the results could be completed by August 7.
Sri Lankans were voted in parliamentary elections on Wednesday.
